Intro to Gumala Investment Pty Ltd’s new CEO; Jess Karlsson

After a thorough recruitment and selection process, the GIPL Board has successfully appointed and are pleased to announce the next GIPL CEO, Jess Karlsson.

Jess has dedicated her life to positively impacting the lives of people; helping keep them safe, whilst providing them with life changing opportunities.

She is committed to improving the lives of others, by creating positive social impact through her leadership in Executive, Board, and volunteer roles.

Jess’ leadership and executive experience spans across private, commercial, and nonprofit sectors. Over the past 15 years, Jess has been in CEO, Executive and Board roles, within profit for purpose, commercial and local government sectors.

Her experience spans across health, community, youth, disability, recreation, education, and Aboriginal services, in QLD, NT, and WA. For the past year Jess has been in shorter term contracted roles, and consulting within regional Local Governments, whilst seeking her next dream role.

Jess has presented at National and International conferences, is a TEDx speaker, holds qualifications in Business, Finance, Management, and Governance, and has won multiple awards, including a coveted 40under40 Business Award in 2021.

Jess advocates for community causes by participating in active fundraising challenges like, Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Abseiling the Perth Central Park Building (x5), International House Building with Youth Projects & Cycling 500km to Uluru from Alice Springs. Jess is a passionate advocate for inclusion, and supporting the communities she serves, she is a go better who believes all people deserve opportunities to achieve their goals and dreams.

The GIPL Board welcome Jess and are excited to work with her for continued success and positive impact for Members, through the Gumala Trust.

The Board would also like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing CEO, John Raftis, for his leadership and commitment to GIPL over the past nine years.
